Our Story
The UW-Platteville Chapter of EWB-USA was founded in 2007 by Dr. Samuel Owusu-Ababio, Jerome Flogel, and Joe Elsinger. These students and Dr. Sam, a UW-Platteville professor and Ghanaian native, connected and had a vision to start a UW-Platteville chapter to partner with communities in Ghana. Since then our student-led chapter has completed four transformative projects and is currently in the process of completing a fifth. Together with professional mentors and financial support, we can make a difference to empower communities, one at a time.
Our Vision
Our vision is a world in which the communities we serve have the capacity to sustainably meet their basic human needs, and that our members have enriched global perspectives through the innovative professional education opportunities that the EWB-USA program provides.
Our Mission
EWB-USA supports community-driven development programs worldwide by collaborating with local partners to design and implement sustainable engineering projects, while creating transformative expereinces and responsible leaders.
